Biography/ Business Profile

Barbara S. Weintraub is a solo practitioner in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  She holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Music degree (magna cum laude) from the Peabody Institute of the John Hopkins University.  Ms. Weintraub also pursued post-graduate studies at Yale University, where she was awarded the Wardwell Fellowship. 

In 1996 Ms. Weintraub established the Law Firm of Barbara S. Weintraub, P.C., Attorney at Law.  The Firm specializes in Family and Domestic Relations law including issues related to Divorce, Custody, Child Support, Parenting Time and Visitation, Alimony, Division of Property, Change of Domicile, Interstate Custody and Parenting Time, Prenuptial Agreements, and Paternity.

The law firm of Barbara S. Weintraub, P.C., Attorney at Law serves clients in the Counties of Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Van Buren, Allegan, St. Joseph, Barry, and Branch.

Barbara S. Weintraub is a Member of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Council and State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly (Ninth Judicial Circuit) for three-year terms expiring in September of 2006.  Ms. Weintraub served as Chair of the Family Law Section of Kalamazoo County Bar Association from 2000-2002.  In addition, Ms. Weintraub is past President of the Kalamazoo County Trial Lawyers Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.

Ms. Weintraub is a former Law Clerk to the Honorable William G. Schma of the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Michigan.  She has also served as Intern/Law Clerk to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Technology and the Law.

In her former capacity as a concert pianist, Ms. Weintraub toured the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Canada.  She was a top Prizewinner in the Chopin International Competition and the 27th International Munich Competition.

In her spare time, Ms. Weintraub studies homicide investigations and the application of contemporary forensic pathology techniques to unsolved crimes.  She is a devotee of Sherlock Holmes and the works of Arthur Conan Doyle.  Her future aspirations include membership in the Baker Street Irregulars of New York City.  Until she realizes that dream, Ms. Weintraub will have to content herself with membership in various Scion Societies.
